Playing in the creek
Trying to escape some of the heat we decided to go play in the creek. It was so refreshing to play in the cold water. We enjoyed a steak BBQ (well I had steak and the boys had hot dogs) Thanks Zachary! We had such a great time just hanging out together and enjoying the water. Emily absolutely loved it. We thought it might be too cold for her but she got right in and enjoyed every moment of it. She tried to climb the rocks, managed to eat a few rocks and enjoyed throwing the rocks with Daddy and uncle Justin. Our original plan was to go way out to a neat water fall that we like to visit but because of all the fires that are around here the road was closed. We ended up finding a nice area right off the main road and it had a perfect place for Em to play.
Our plan this week is to stay indoors and avoid the awful heat.

Man, those pictures are great. Emily just gets cuter and cuter. That water looks really good. It's not too dang hot here, but it's getting close.
Emily is so cute! Your creek looks like it had the perfect wading pond. We took Linnea to a park that has this water thing that looks like a creek with waterfalls. I would much rather have the real deal.
You had steak and the boys had hotdogs...HAHA I love it! :)
Wish I could've gone! I felt SO tired and crappy I didn't think it was a good idea. We all need to go there or to the lake another weekend, soon.
That was a fun time! I can't wait to do it again! Just for the record, Emily is laughing in all those pictures with me, not crying!!!
I have a confession. You mentioned a couple of times how hot it has been in Redding on previous posts. I would think to myself, "that girl lives in beautiful california, if she thinks hot there, she needs to come on down to Texas." Well, I am sorry for my thoughts...it is hotter in Redding than in the big D.
That was fun. Although, we had brats, which are far tastier than plain old hot dogs. Anyway....emily is cute and the lake/creek are the coolest.
Very cute pics...what a fun way to get away from the hot temps!
