It is done
Well, our tiling project is finally finished. I can't even begin to tell you how hard Zachary and Justin worked to get the tile in over the weekend. Neither of them had laid tile before so it was a learning experience for both. I can tell you both have no desire to do it again any time soon. It looks so incredible though. It really makes the downstairs look more open and clean. Right before they got started one of our neighbors noticed that we were just about to tile and since he does tiling for a living he stopped by to offer some of his tools and to give Zachary a few tips. He turned out to be a really big help. During the process we had to move the stove and the fridge into the garage which meant no cooking for me. The couch was on the front porch which kinda made us look like "white trash" except for the fact that it was a nice leather couch so maybe we were high class "white trash". Either way it was kinda comfy relaxing outside on a couch on the front porch. And the hardest part was keeping Emily out of the boys way. She got so dirty playing in all the dust and water, and enjoyed every minute of it. Today Zachary put the last of the trim up and I finished the touch up painting. The results are amazing and I love it!!
Justin is the king at mixing mortar, Zachary has mad cutting skills and Emily cleans up all their tools
And just for fun I had to post this picture of Emily. She seems to be having a little eye roll action going on. I think she was tired of me taking so many pictures of her.

She really does look like she's rolling her eyes at you: "c'mon mom, do you *really* need ANOTHER picture of me?"
The new tile looks great. Good job, Zachary and Justin (and Emily). Randy and I tiled about half of his house several years ago. After I remembered how to stand up straight again, I retired from that business.
That picture of Emily is a real keeper. When she's a teenager you'll need that as her early "Oh, Mother!" attitude pic.
Your house does look GREAT! Good color choices too. I think everything ties together very well. And that monster TV makes the perfect finishing touch! It does work really well up on that shelf.
