She is climbing

Much to my surprise Emily is now climbing stairs. The other day I was cooking in the kitchen and I turned around and she was up on the second step. I was totally shocked because she really hasn't been trying to climb them at all. I guess all of a sudden she figured she could do it and off she went. It is her favorite thing to do now. She can get about half way up before I realize that she took off. She thinks that she can just sit down without seeing if there are steps under her too. She loves to crawl up the 3 steps to the first landing and play around on it. She gets up there and turns around to make sure we are watching and gives us a big smile! She is just so proud of herself. We are trying to teach her how to come down backwards on her tummy and she actually did it tonight for the first time.
Also today she starting walking along the couch. It is so cute to watch. In no time she will be running around the house. Maybe though when she starts walking she will not find every single crumb on the floor and eat it.
