Fried pickles
I know that a new post has been a long time in coming but I was waiting for something exciting to happen that was blog worthy. but, alas my life is pretty mundane and you are just going to have to hear about my everyday happenings. I was going to post a picture of my patio set per Lindsay's request but I have not got around to taking a picture of it yet. So you will just have to be patient. About the title of my blog, if you have never tried a fried pickle than you are missing out. You see my niece and nephew are obsessed with pickles Every year they get a gallon jar of them for their birthday's and Faith had a pickle cake this year. And well, my brother found a recipe for fried picles and made them for us. They are delicious!!You have to try them sometime!!
Summer hit us here this last month and we have had over 100 a few days. The worst part of it all is that it is cussin' humid here. You walk out the door and all of a sudden you can't breathe. (which is a necessity you know) I don't like the heat at all but when you add the humidity it is alomost more then I can handle. And it doesn't make for a good hair day either. I am however very thankful for an air conditioned house and the fact that we keep it at 68 helps me bear the insane temperatures. I know that you Texas family members are used to it. But, we here on the west coast expect dry heat not moist heat. Oh, well I guess I just have to deal with it.
I have been working like crazy these past few weeks but having a blast doing it. Last week we celebrated National Scrapbook Day at our store with a Luau party. For those of you who are wondering yes it is celebrated across the nation and it is a big event. I put in 3 12 hours days (which is alot for me) in a row and was very exhausted in the end but it was worth it. If you go to the website you can see pictures from the event. Tonight I am blogging at work and will be here until midnight but I get to crop (the act of scrapbooking) so that should be fun!!
We are looking forward to seeing all the family in texas next month and even more excited that we get to fly and don't have to drive that loooooong drive. Now I am just trying to figure out how I am going to take all me scrapbooking stuff with me. I guess Zachary only gets to take one bag. See y'all soon

I don't know, those fried pickles just don't sound like my thing. Thats good that you get to scrapbook at work though.
12 hour days sound miserable..or maybe my job just isn't as much fun as yours! :) The paycheck would be nice, though.
We can't wait for you to come to Texas. I hope our scrapbook stores impress you, then maybe I will convince you to move here!!!! :)
Love you!
Mmmmm, I think those pickles sound good! You should come make some for me. I'll share my new Janette Oke book! :) Have fun on your trip. Oh, and happy anniversary in four days!
You people. Next thing you know, you'll want fried scrapbook pages. Actually, those do sound intriguing..the pickles, not the fried pages. Anyway, y'all enjoy your trip.
Just when I thought this country couldn't sink any lower. A National Scrapbook Day. I wash my hands in you. Well, maybe not. Fried pickles sound pretty good.
The pickles didn't compare to the shrimp creole that she made at the same time! I love you wife!
You can actually get fried pickles at quite a few places around here. I agree they are good! When will ya'll be in town?
Your brother is a good cook. Now it's not moist heat, it's just moist.
Mmmm. We love fried pickles. If you move to the south, you can have them all the time. We fry everything! See you soon!
